Diesel specifications in North Africa set a maximum of 11%mass for the polyaromatics content in Libya and in the sulfur-free grade in Tunisia and a maximum of 8%mass in Morocco.

The polyaromatics content of diesel samples is shown in the figure below. All samples were below the maximum in Libya and Tunisia. The lowest average contents have been observed in Morocco and Sudan.

In Morocco, the limit for the polyaromatics content was introduced in July 2021, that is why it is not seen in the figure below.
