Octane
The average RON of gasoline samples from 2011 to 2021 is shown in the figure below.
A significant number of samples samples was below the required RON in the region. Most samples were above the required minima in Algeria and Sudan for the regular grade. For the premium grade, many samples were below the required minima in Tunisia, Morocco and Egypt.
Algeria and Libya have increased their octane in the past years.
