Quality monitoring

There is no nationwide program for fuel quality monitoring in Colombia. There are, however, sectoral or regional programs that measure and monitor diesel, and diesel quality, in Colombia.

Some regions also have quality control analysis performed at fueling stations. This is particularly important in the regions where fuel smuggling is more severe, such as Colombia’s border with Venezuela.

Ecopetrol also performs quality controls of the refined products, and reports to the Ministry of Energy and Mines. However, there are no public reports of this information.
