Regulations
Setting emissions standards is the responsibility of the Ministry of Environment. Colombia established its emissions standards for vehicle model years 2008, 2009 and 2010 by enacting
Resolution 910 in 2008.
On September 10, 2013, the Ministry of Environment enacted
Resolution 1111 amending
Resolution 910/2008, enforcing new emissions requirements equivalent to Euro IV and United States’ (U.S.) Tier 2/2010 limits for light-duty vehicles (LDV), medium-duty vehicles (MDV) running on diesel and heavy-duty vehicles (HDV) as of January 1, 2015.
