Chile’s Ministry of Energy Decree No. 39, published in the official gazette on January 6, 2025, established March 30, 2024, as the starting date for automotive diesel with a maximum regulatory sulfur content of 10 mg/kg in the country.

There is no specific schedule to establish a biodiesel mandate for diesel in Chile. The country is focusing its resources on the development of solar photovoltaic and wind plants to feed the production of e-fuels, green hydrogen and power generation for electric vehicle fleet.
