Timeline for Exhaust Emissions Standards
In July 2022, the East Africa Community (EAC) published a in the official journal which brought to effect the first edition of East African Standard EAS 1047:2022 standards on Air Quality – Vehicular exhaust emission limits. This standard is compliant with Euro 4/IV vehicle exhaust emissions regulations, and it is the first edition of the standard. Countries have six months from the date of publication to implement the standards as per the EAC statutes.
