As we have shown in the preceding pages, hte U.S. oil value chain has undergone dramatic change over the past several years. 2019, directionally, was not much different than past years in some respects:
    •Growing production of light tight oil continued to, on average, lighten U.S. refineries’ crude slate. Growing production of LTO has more than offset the growing share of heavier grades in U.S. imports of crude.
    •The volumes of fresh feed sent to refineries’ catalytic crackers continued a downward trend, even as inputs to reformers remained fairly steady. Inputs, on both gross and relative basis, declined for hydrocrackers and cokers in 2019; while the decline in relative input share was merely a continuation of a longer trend with respect to coker usage, the 201
