Biodiesel
While Singapore produces biodiesel (fatty acid methyl ester or FAME) to a certain extent, diesel sold in Singapore’s fuel retail stations typically does not contain FAME. However, Singapore’s diesel specification allows up to 7% v/v of FAME in diesel.
If diesel contains FAME, this FAME must meet the specification BS EN 14214:2012-Fatty acid methyl esters for use in diesel engines and heating applications – published by the British Standards Institution.
There is no separate specification for diesel containing more than 7% v/v.
