Recent developments

From January 1, 2022, the updated Decree Nº 1948-21 from July 16, 2021 provides details of the gasoline specification in Morocco. The key changes from previous specification (defined in the Decree Nº 3774-15 of November 11, 2015) are related to the reduction in sulfur content (from 50 to 10 mg/kg), and the decrease in aromatics content (from 50% v/v to 35% v/v) and benzene content (from 5% v/v to 1% v/v). The maximum regulatory limit for manganese content limit (2 mg/l) was introduced, as well as some changes in distillation and vapor pressure.
