Supply and demand

According to the latest annual report on the energy sector published by the Moroccan Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the consumption of diesel has decreased by about 6.1% in 2022, compared with the 2021 level. This could be due to the high price of fuels following the Ukraine-Russia conflict, which started in February 2022.

Also, in 2020, consumption of diesel decreased to its lowest level compared with other years shown below. This was due to travel restrictions imposed during the COVID-19 pandemic.
