This section provides detailed overviews of the relevant gasoline formulations in each PADD 2 state. One important prefatory statement is that many gasoline quality parameters show great uniformity from state to state, namely those set by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) and those which states faithfully adopt from ASTM D4814. Therefore, the discussion below will tend to focus on those parameters that show the greatest state-to-state variation, namely:

•Octane limits (where they exist)

•Volatility requirements

•Oxygenate requirements
