Metallic additives
Under Mongolia’s gasoline specification, MNS 0217:2017, the maximum lead content is set at 5 mg/dm3, but iron and manganese content are not regulated. SGS Worldwide Fuel Survey data shows that lead and iron content was not been found in any gasoline samples. A small amount of manganese content was found in gasoline samples taken in 2011 and 2018.
In 2018, the average manganese content was 0.06 mg/liter and the highest 0.50 mg/liter. Since 2018, no manganese has been found in gasoline samples. The figure below shows the average manganese content of gasoline samples in the period 2011-2021.
