Lifecycle greenhouse gas emission reduction target
The sets an obligation for fuel suppliers to reduce the greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions in transport by 10%, produced over the entire life-cycle of fuel per unit of energy, compared to a baseline of 94.1 CO2 equivalent in g/MJ.
The sectors applicable to this target are road and non-road machinery.
Measures counted towards the target
The following measures may be counted towards the target:
•Renewable energy used in consumed in road and rail (biofuels, electricity)
•Jointly with other suppliers
•Renewable electricity providers
Penalty
Failure to comply with these obligations is punishable by an administrative fine under conditions defined by decree in the Council of State.
