Metallic additives
The Laos gasoline specification, LS 06-2016, sets the maximum lead content in gasoline at 0.005 g/l. The government does not regulate a maximum limit for manganese and iron.
SGS Worldwide Fuel Survey results for gasoline samples taken from 2011-2021 shows one of the 2012 gasoline samples had a relatively high iron content of 6.2 mg/kg. The rest of the gasoline samples had lead, manganese and iron content, at a trace level. This shows that metallic additives for gasoline are not popular in Laos.
