On-road diesel

The Algerian Institute of Normalization (IANOR) has published only one diesel specification, NA 8110:1992, which requires diesel to have a minimum cetane index of 48 and a maximum sulfur content of 2,500 mg/kg.

Diesel specifications in Algeria are based on the quality data that Sonatrach, the national fuel company, provided at the beginning of the 1990s. Since then, refinery renovation works have been completed and quality has improved; however specifications have not been updated.
