N-Methylaniline
N-Methylaniline is a non-traditional antiknock agent used to increase the octane number of gasoline. It is usually added to gasoline in a concentration of around 1.3% v/v to avoid high gum levels that can cause increased carbon deposits in engine parts.
The use of N-Methylaniline in gasoline in Turkmenistan is not regulated. SGS Worldwide Fuel Survey (WWFS) data indicates that N-methylaniline content was observed only in 2014 in the gasoline grade RON 95. However, it was still lower than 1% v/v.
