Potential links between particle contamination and biodiesel
SGS INSPIRE has compared particle content and biodiesel content sample by sample. Results indicate that there is no direct correlation between a high particle count and high biodiesel content, therefore data suggests that biodiesel content might not be the cause of the high particle count. However, since used cooking oil (UCO) imports to the EU for the production of biodiesel are increasing, monitoring would be advisable to enable the detection of particles coming potentially from UCO.
