Recent developments
In September 2022, Thailand’s government announced a plan to increase the price gap between E20 (gasoline containing up to 20% v/v ethanol) and E10 (gasoline containing up to 10% v/v ethanol also known locally as gasohol) to encourage a move shift to E20 from January 2023. Furthermore, RON 91 E10 (gasohol 91) will be phased out leaving RON 95 E10 (gasohol 95) as the gasoline-ethanol blend with the lowest ethanol content.
The government has also been contemplating phasing out E85 (gasoline contains up to 85% v/v ethanol) as the grade has not been selling well.
