Vehicle fleets

Vehicle fleet data is generally not publicly available in many member states of the Cooperation Council for the Arab States of the Gulf (GCC).

In 2023, SGS INSPIRE estimated that approximately 24.19 million vehicles were registered across the GCC. Of this total, around 62% are registered in Saudi Arabia, followed by 11% in Kuwait, and 9% in the United Arab Emirates. The remaining 18% is shared among Bahrain, Oman, and Qatar. Saudi Arabia has a notably larger vehicle fleet compared to other GCC countries, largely due to its size and population, which stands at around 35 million people. In contrast, countries like Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar have much smaller populations, with Bahrain at approximately 1.7 million, Kuwait at 4.5 million, and Qatar at 3 million.
