Biodiesel (fatty acid methyl ester/FAME)
In Thailand, there are two specifications for pure biodiesel. One is for pure biodiesel (B100) used in the agricultural industry and the other is B100 (typically used by the transportation sector).
The specification for B100 in the agricultural industry is set under Department of Energy Business Notification B.E. 2549 dated July 27, 2006. Under this specification, which is still applicable today, the following parameters are set, including:
    •A minimum cetane number of 47
    •A maximum sulfur content of 0.0015% wt (15 mg/kg)
    •A maximum total glycerol of 1.5% wt
    •Viscosity range of 1.9-8.0 cSt
On the other hand, B100 for the transportation sector has a minimum cetane number of 51 and a maximum sulfur content of 0.0010% wt (10 mg/kg).
