Fuel ethanol
Ethanol (E100) is not used as a neat fuel, but it is blended with gasoline at a volume of up to 7.8% v/v. Anhydrous Denatured Ethanol specification from 2011, which was reviewed in 2017, is the Peruvian standard for fuel ethanol to be blended in gasoline. More information about fuel ethanol specifications is available in the SGS INSPIRE fuel specifications database.
In Peru, gasohol is mostly supplied across the country, except in San Martin, Loreto, Ucayali and Madre de Dios where ethanol logistics and distribution become an issue (these regions are in the Amazonas jungle).
