Country´s vehicle fleet by fuel type

Canada’s increased emphasis on clean energy is evident in the wider choice of vehicle fuels. In 2017, a significant 95% of all newly registered motor vehicles ran on gasoline or diesel fuels, while only 5% were alternative fuel vehicles. Fast forward to 2022, and the landscape has transformed: 80% of new vehicle registrations still use gasoline and diesel, but a notable 20% now belong to the category of alternative fuel vehicles.
