Light-duty and heavy-duty vehicles

The Rulebook on data on fuel economy and CO2 emissions from new passenger vehicles that was last updated in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Serbia (RS) 71 on August 25, 2023, includes specifications for fuel consumption, and emissions of CO2 and air-polluting substances from new passenger vehicles. This rulebook also states that the Euro 5 exhaust emission standard has been in force for new passenger vehicles since September 1, 2009, with the Euro 6 exhaust emission standard in effect from September 1, 2014.

The Republic of Serbia still allows imported used cars with outdated Euro 3/III and Euro 4/IV standards. However, at the end of 2022, the government announced a program of air protection from 2022 to 2030, with an action plan published in the O
