This report presents current legislative framework on fuels quality in the Republic of South Africa (RSA) and explains the regulatory chaos resulting from postponing fuels quality reform, so-called Clean Fuels 2. It also presents current and future gasoline and diesel quality requirements against real marked data based on SGS multiannual fuels quality sampling. This report discusses also the lack of a comprehensive and holistic strategy that would aim at reducing exhaust emissions from the transport sector.
