Raphael covers North American fuel markets for SGS INSPIRE.
Raphael has over twelve years of experience as an energy analyst and economist.
Prior to joining SGS INSPIRE, Raphael held a number of roles at Hart Energy's consulting practice. He joined Hart as a transportation energy consultant, authoring two major studies on the future potential of hybrid and electric vehicles in the U.S. before becoming Director of the company's Latin America Downstream practice. He then transitioned to the company's Upstream Research practice, first as Senior Analyst and then Director, coordinating research on a universe of 17 North American shale and tight oil plays and also producing research on Latin American heavy oil assets. He then took on the role of staff macroeconomist once Hart initiated a Macroeconomics and Geopolitics practice.
Prior to joining Hart, Raphael worked as a strategy analyst for Toyota's North America operations.
Raphael holds a bachelor's degree from Johns Hopkins University and a master's degree from Columbia University. He is a native speaker of both English and Portuguese, and is also proficient in Spanish and Japanese.
