EU: European Parliament adopts its position on a single EU methodology for calculating GHG emissions of transport services

On April 10, 2024 the European Parliament (EP) adopted its position on a single EU methodology for calculating greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions of transport services.

Traditionally, transport companies have used different calculation methods to measure their GHG emissions due to the absence of a unified measurement system in the EU. The adoption of a single methodology will ensure that GHG emissions data is reliable and accurate, which will prevent misleading consumers and greenwashing in the transport industry.
