India: updates on India’s National Green Hydrogen Mission

India’s state-owned natural gas company GAIL was expected to start commercial production of green hydrogen in April 2024. The plant, located at the company’s natural gas hub in Madhya Pradesh, comprises a 10 MW proton membrane electrolyzer. It can produce up to 4.3 tonnes/day of green hydrogen. In May 2023, GAIL published an expression of interest (EOI) document to find potential customers for its green hydrogen. However, no further information about any offtake agreements with GAIL is available.
