Spain: first hydrogen hub study underway

Airbus has joined forces with five companies; including two Spanish airlines (Air Nostrum and Iberia), the Exolum Group (based in Madrid, providing transportation and storage services), Aena (operator of over 60 airports), and Repsol (a Spanish energy company focusing increasingly on renewable energy), to study the establishment of the first hydrogen aviation hub in Spain. The primary objective of the study is to develop the hydrogen aviation ecosystem in Spain, addressing not only hydrogen supply and infrastructure issues, but also the specific needs of ground operations at airports.
