SGS INSPIRE Market Analyst for Europe and Africa, Dhanisha Juleemun, presented on market trends, regulatory developments and fuel quality in South Africa at the Industry Seminar of the Interstate Oil Committee on July 10, 2024.
The seminar was organized by the Department of Mineral Resources and Energy (DMRE) and featured speakers from S&P Global, Argus Media, the South African Petroleum Industry Association (SAPIA), the Liquid Fuel Wholesalers Association (LFWA) of South Africa, the South African Petroleum Retailers' Association (SAPRA), the National Energy Regulator of South Africa (NERSA) and the , a non-profit organization which forms part of the global electric vehicle (EV) alliance.
On the following day, Dhanisha joined the th, where SAPIA unveiled their new brand identity as the Fuels Industry Association of South Africa (FIASA).
SAPIA (as it was then known) was established in 1994 under the guidance of former president Nelson Mandela to represent the collective interests of the South African fuel industry. Its mission was to include all stakeholders in the fuel industry and share health, safety and environmental best practices and advocate for an equitable regulatory framework, as well as providing expert information and guidance.
