Latin America: Andean Development Bank publishes energy transition scenarios until 2060

The Andean Development Bank (CAF) has published detailed modeling of the energy transition scenarios in Brazil, Mexico, Colombia, Peru and the Dominican Republic in its Just Energy Transition reports.

The electrification of the public motorcycle and bus fleet is expected to reach 100% by 2060 for the five countries studied.

In Brazil, the main measures considered are the use of green alternative fuels (for example, green diesel) and the electrification of the passenger vehicle fleet. Brazil's biofuel industry is well developed, consequently a significant incursion of natural gas is not expected but rather a marked development in synthetic fuels for road cargo
