On December 30, 2024, the Nigerian National Petroleum Company Ltd (NNPC Ltd) confirmed that operations at the Warri Refinery have resumed. This comes after nearly a decade of closures due to repair and maintenance.
The refinery has a refining capacity of 125,000 barrels per day (bpd). According to local sources, it is not fully operational. However, the reopening is a positive sign, as per the NNPC plans. The Kaduna refinery, scheduled to restart at the end of 2024, is also expected to resume operations in the coming months.
