On December 8, 2024, Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals (MEM) published a Ministerial Decision No. (35-2024), planned to establish the Oman Net Zero Center.
The purpose of establishing the Oman Net Zero Center is to help the country achieve the net zero carbon neutrality goals by 2050. According to the MEM, the Net Zero Center will carry out nine key task to achieve the carbon neutrality goals:
    Monitor net-zero projects: oversee the implementation of zero-neutrality initiatives, including energy efficiency projects
    Provide technical support: assist government and private entities in reducing carbon emissions and improving energy efficiency
    Adopt and transfer international best practices: implement glo
