Malaysia: Malaysia Aviation Group partners with UCO producer to explore the SAF production

On February 28, 2025, Malaysia Aviation Group (MAG)—the parent company of Malaysia Airlines and Firefly, jointly with FatHopes Energy (FHE), a Malaysia used cooking oil (UCO) producer, signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to explore the potential of utilizing UCO as a feedstock for sustainable aviation fuel (SAF) production in Malaysia.

Under this agreement, MAG and FHE will collaborate to assess the logistical challenges of UCO collection, economic viability, environmental impact, and SAF processing.
