Egypt: government acknowledges gasoline adulteration

On May 11, 2025, Egypt's Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources confirmed that gasoline which came from retail stations in the country, did not meet the required specifications. This followed investigation by the authorities, after numerous complaints were made.

According to the announcement, between May 4 and 9, 2025, a total of 870 complaints were registered across the country. The breakdown of the complaints is shown in the table below.
