On June 1, 2026, Supreme Decree No. 011-2025-EM was published in the Official Gazette of Peru. This decree modifies Supreme Decree No. 014-2021-EM, which establishes measures related to the sulfur content of diesel, gasoline and gasohol (an ethanol blend) for marketing and use, and simplifies the number of gasoline and gasohol grades; this is becasue domestic refineries are experiencing operational problems in producing higher-quality fuels.
Supreme Decree No. 011-2025-EM establishes an extension for the mandatory marketing and use of diesel, gasoline and gasohol with a maximum sulfur content of 10 mg/kg, according to the following deadlines:
