On May 29, 2025, Malaysia’s Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) announced the launch of a B20 (diesel containing 20% v/v of biodiesel) pilot project at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). The initiative involves transitioning ground service vehicles and machinery from B10 (diesel containing 10% v/v of biodiesel) to B20, with the goal of evaluating its impact on airport operating costs. According to MPIC, the KLIA B20 pilot project is expected to consume around 350,000 liters (300 tonnes) of B20 per month.
