UK: Lindsey Refinery to close

On June 30, 2025, the UK Minister for Energy announced that the Prax Lindsey Oil Refinery has entered insolvency and would be closed, after no credible sale offers were made to purchase the refinery.

The Lindsey Oil Refinery was constructed in 1968 in the Humber region, with a production capacity of 113,000 barrels per day (bpd). The key outputs are gasoline and diesel for road transport as well as fuel oil, kerosene and aviation fuel. According to the minister’s announcement, the refinery will continue to process crude oil until the end of July 2025. There are no future plans for the refinery as of July 25, 2025.
