EU: European automakers' concerns about the automotive future

On August 27, 2025, the European Automobile Manufacturers’ Association (ACEA) and the European Association of Automotive Suppliers (CLEPA) jointly sent a letter to the European Commission (EC), highlighting the current challenges facing the European automotive sector in its green transition path, including some recommendations to overcome them.

The timing of the letter is crucial, as it precedes the strategic dialogue between the EC and the automotive industry scheduled for September 12, 2025. It is worth noting that a previous strategic dialogue was held on January 30, 2025, which resulted in the publication of the industrial action plan for the European automotive sector by the EC in March 2025.
