3.2. E15 use and availability in the market

 

According to Growth Energy (ethanol industry trade group), there are an estimated 1,600 refueling stations in the U.S. that can offer E15 from either blender pumps or dedicate E15 pumps, located in 29 states.  The states with the most registered E15 stations are Minnesota, Iowa, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Wisconsin.  There are approximately 115,000 stations nationwide providing retail fuel sales, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.  Unfortunately, no federal agency (such as EPA, Department of Transportation, Department of Energy, etc.) collects specific sales data for E15.  Similarly, individual states, except for Iowa discussed below, do not require E15 sales information.  A significant reason is because blender pumps are able to dispense
