Off-road diesel
In Thailand, off-road diesel (also known as low-speed diesel) is mainly used in off-road engines, excluding those used by fishermen (small-scale fishery sector) under a government’s program, for which there are separate specifications that differ mainly in the maximum sulfur limit, color and fatty acid methyl ester (FAME) content.
The current off-road diesel specifications set a minimum cetane number of 45, a maximum sulfur limit of 1.5% m/m (15,000 mg/kg), and no fixed limit for FAME content.
Full details of low-speed diesel specifications are available in the SGS INSPIRE fuel specifications database.
