Recent developments

In April 2024, Australia’s government published the Fuel Quality Standards (Petrol) Determination 2024 and the Fuel Quality Standards (Ethanol E85) Determination 2024, postponing the implementation date of sulfur reduction to 10 mg/kg from mid-December 2024 to mid-December 2025.

At the same time, this latest gasoline standards reduce the maximum aromatics limit for RON 95 from 45% v/v to 35% v/v with 35% v/v pool average, effective after December 14, 2025. The maximum aromatics limits for other grades stayed the same.
