Quality monitoring
In Egypt, the state-owned company Egyptian General Petroleum Corporation (EGPC) monitors fuel quality nationally. The results of its analyses are not publicly available.
On May 11, 2025, the Egyptian Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources that it acknowledges that gasoline supply at some retail stations was off specification. The investigation so far highlighted the possibility of gasoline grades (RON 92 and 95) being mix with low-quality gasoline grade (RON 90) or being contaminated by impurities in fuel tanks and at retail stations. The investigation is still on-going.
