Hydrocarbons
Diesel, as other refined petroleum products, comprises of hydrocarbons that are obtained from crude petroleum. Crude petroleum oils are composed of three major hydrocarbons, i.e. paraffinic (also known as alkanes), naphthenic (also known as cycloalkanes), and aromatic hydrocarbons.
The aromatic content of diesel is directly proportional to particulate matter (PM) exhaust emissions from diesel engines. Thus, reduction of the aromatic content will also lower PM emissions and soot formation.
We noted good compliance with the 8% m/m regulatory limit, which is in accordance with .
