Imports and exports
Morocco imports most of its gasoline to satisfy the national demand. The main countries from which imported refined petroleum products originate are Saudi Arabia, Spain, Italy, Russia, the UK and the U.S.
According to the latest annual report on the energy sector published by the Moroccan Ministry of Energy Transition and Sustainable Development, the import of gasoline has decreased by about 3.4% in 2022 compared with the 2021 level. This could be the result of the high price of fuels globally following the Ukraine-Russia conflict, which started in February 2022.
