U.S.: overview of gasoline quality specifications in PADD 2 states

This report provides an analysis of the fuel quality standards enforced in the Midwest region of the U.S., as defined by the Petroleum Administration for Defense District (PADD) 2 region. PADD 2 encompasses Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Minnesota, Nebraska, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Dakota, Tennessee, and Wisconsin.

PADD 2 states have historically accounted for 28-30% of gasoline consumed in the United States. The region is home to nearly 4 MMbbl/d of refining capacity, much of it supplied by Canadian crude oil imports.
