Recent developments

In November 2022, the Ministry of Plantation Industries and Commodities (MPIC) announced that the government postponed the nationwide implementation of B20 (diesel containing up to 20% v/v of biodiesel) until the end of 2023. The pandemic and the lack of biodiesel blending facilities are the main causes of this.

In August 2023, the Malaysian government introduced the implementation of the B30 (diesel containing up to 30% v/v of biodiesel) mandate. The rollout of B30 is scheduled to commence by 2025.

As of January 2024, Malaysia has yet to implement the B20 mandate nationwide.
