Subsidies

The price of crude palm oil (CPO) is typically higher than conventional diesel. Thus, by regulating the retail price of diesel, the Malaysian government indirectly subsidizes diesel and biodiesel sold in the country. However, the amount of the subsidy given to the biodiesel industry is publicly unknown.
