Hydrogen FCEV demonstration cities agglomerations

On August 18, 2021, the Chinese government approved the first demonstration of fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEV) in specific city agglomerations. A total of 22 cities have been selected in three city agglomerations. The demonstration period will last four years from the approval date.

Under this demonstration project, shortlisted cities or districts undergo a hydrogen development assessment program. This assessment is divided into annual assessment, mid-stage assessment (2nd year) and final assessment (4th year). The government sets a different target for each assessment, involving hydrogen FCEV promotion and application, industrialization and research and development on key components development for hydrogen FCEV and hydrogen supply in ea
