Non-compliance penalties

According to the Act on Biofuels and Bioliquids No 393 of July 6, 2013, any violation to the sustainability criteria provisions must be sentenced, unless the act is punished more severely elsewhere by law, for breaching the sustainability criteria provisions to a fine.

The Energy Market Authority may enhance its prohibition or order under this law, by means of a periodic penalty payment or a threat of commissioning or suspension as provided for in the Periodic Penalty Payments Act (1113, 1990).
