Among metallic additives, lead is limited to 13 mg/l. No lead has been found in samples in Tanzania since 2013, except for 2018, when one sample was found to contain a small amount of lead.

Manganese (Mn) and iron are not regulated under current legislation.
The SGS Worldwide Fuel Survey shows average iron content of 6.3 mg/l in 2021. Looking at manganese (Mn), there are records of its use, particularly from 2017 to 2021. In 2021, the average content of Mn in the samples taken was a little above 20 mg/l.
